Project description: The aim of the project was to provide technical
assistance to the Directorate of Water Development (DWD) supporting the
implementation of the 1 year operational plan to promote Ecological Sanitation
in Uganda in particular:
- Assist in the management of the national program to promote and develop
ecological sanitation in Uganda including the development of a monitoring
(reporting) framework
- Develop operational guidelines for the management and use of a fund
to stimulate innovation and promotion of ecological sanitation in Uganda
- Quality assurance for the outputs to be delivered
- Provide backstopping support to Ministry of Water and Ministry of
Health
- Provide advise (in collaboration with Worldbank's WSP-AF) to the Ministry
of Health and DWD on the integration of the ecosan promotion program
in the overall reform process and implementation framework in the sanitation
sub-sector
